Fish protection and downstream fish passage measurements

This project examined the fish downstream passage and “Paxitest” for the evaluation of the fish protection and fish downstream passage at the hydropower plant “ Rappenberhalde” at the Neckar river, near the city of Tübingen.

This project had, among others, the following objectives:

a) Verification of the applicability of the “Concept for the evaluation of fish protection and fish descent” (Schmalz, Wagner & Sonny 2015) in practice

b) Provide quantitative functional statements on the fish protection and fish descent at the site of study

c) Supply scientific statements and reasons for the species-specific use of the sub-corridors at the site of study

This project was carried out in close cooperation with FLUSS.

Techniques used during this project included: PIT tagging and net fishing.
